Coral #9 and My Mind's Eye November Challenge - Gratitude

I love, love, love My Mind's Eye Stella & Rose paper collection and rue the day that I run out my supply. It is a retired collection so what I have is what I have. This layout is for the My Mind's Eye November Challenge about gratitude. I am grateful for my husband and our children. They make everyday worth living and I love them more than words can express. For this layout I added private journaling. Not b/c I want to hide the wonderful things I think about them, but b/c I couldn't find a logical place in this layout for journaling.  I like the way it turned out!

Scrapbooksteals.com gives me such great layouts to work with and Coral #9 was no exception. I used photos from our recent day trip to Rocky Mountain National Park. The boys were actually kind of cranky the whole time but we managed to get a few good pictures in between the fussy ones.

Coral #8 - Scrapbooksteals.com

Coral #8 from Scrapbooksteals.com came around just in time for me to use my most recent order from Snapfish. I am actually scrapping photos taken within the last month! While my parents were here we went to the History Colorado Museum. It was a really neat museum with a lot of hands on activities for both adults and children alike. My favorite part was the ski jump simulation, but I think the boys liked the country store and toys the best. Here is my interpretation of the sketch for Coral #8.

My Mind's Eye, ScrapFIT, and Scrapbooksteals

I love doing the challenges for My Minds Eye mostly b/c I love My Mind's Eye and their products make it so easy to embellish across paper collections and still make a cohesive page. The My Mind's Eye November Challenge was to scrap a family recipe. I can honestly say that I do not have a single family recipe. My Mom doesn't like to cook or bake plus I am a vegetarian going on 14 years now and my Grandma has lots of meaty recipes. I love to bake so perhaps future generations will have a recipe to pass along. In my family, however, we do share a love for coffee. We all have Keurig brewers and when we come to visit the first thing we say is "I ordered your favorite coffee in my most recent coffee order." We have priorities!!

I incorporated a ScrapFIT Step Class challenge into my layout. Step Class #10 was about creating  layered banner. Since I love banners this was a great way to step up my game a little. I used paper, fabric, and ribbon in my banner on the lower right hand side of my layout. I love the way it turned out and will try this layered look again.

Since I am still trying to catch up on the Coral series from Scrapbooksteals.com, I used the layout from Coral #3a. I rotated the sketch, but overall I like my take on the layout.

Coral #4 & Paper Girls Challenge #19

I am playing catch-up with the Scrapbooksteals.com Mid-Week Mojo's that I missed while moving. The sketch for this layout was Coral #4 and went really well with the photo I wanted to use. The Paper Girls Challenge #19 was about being thankful. I immediately knew that I wanted to do a layout about my college graduation. College wasn't an option in my house and I am forever thankful to my Mom and Dad for pushing us, encouraging us, and financially helping us achieve the goal of a college education. I attended a top notch University, made some fantastic friends, and met my husband all while studying, working, and partying. College will not be an option for our children and I hope one day they will realize the value of an education. GO BLUE!!!!

Scrapbooksteals Coral #7 & ScrapFIT Workout #79

Coming in at the 11th hour for Scrapbooksteals.com Coral #7, I have "ice cream Face". These are a few of about 100 pictures I took at Dave's company picnic in August. The boys had so much fun at the amusement park, but enjoyed the ice cream most. Archie is loving his cone and Fletcher is sad that his is gone already. I also am using this layout in the ScrapFIT Workout #79 which is all about washi tape. I don't have too much here, but I used it to fill some dead space on the right hand side and to frame up the upper left hand corner. I only have 4 rolls of washi tape, which is an oversight I am looking to correct soon!
